Psychic Phenomena

With so many weird events taking place in my life it is really hard to remember them all but a couple do stand out in my memory for one reason or another. You decide if psychic phenomena is real or not...

Energy

You would find it very hard to believe but several years ago I had a car that only ran on energy - my energy. Funniest thing that old 4 cylinder '85 blue Ford would only run properly when I was in the driver's seat. Many people witnessed this strange event and many people were shocked by it - yet this was something that I just took for granted in a sense. It is so much a part of me how am I supposed to get excited about it?

I would often give friends and students a ride to the subway stop and they all knew my car didn't run very well. No problem. I would get them there. I would get the thing to start and then drive them over - on the way it would lose steam and chug up hills and would barely keep going. Even funnier was when the gutless wonder was going up hill. If possible, I would build up steam before the bottom of a hill [its top speed was 70 - 80 km] and take a run at it. The car would be dropping way below the 60 km, down to 50, then 40, then 30 and so on - by the time I would reach the top it might be doing between 10 to 20 km/hr. Cars would race past me and some would honk. I couldn't help it - it was a Ford!

This went on for quite a while and my car continued to die a slow death. 'Her' struggles to run were increasing month by month despite all our best efforts to help her regain her health. One day I decided to try an experiment - I knew my energy would affect watches and things [I haven't been able to wear a watch since I was a child] so I decided to do reiki and energy work on her. I saw no reason that it wouldn't work and since the car was almost dead it was worth a try - what did I have to lose?

The next time I got in the car I tried it and it seemed to work - the old girl just kind of perked up a little when I had my hands on her and made a conscious effort to give her energy. I concentrated on sending energy to her motor because she now had a cracked manifold. Every time I got into the car I would give her energy and whether it was helping or not I really wasn't sure, but I made the effort anyhow. I thought it was running a little smoother but then figured it was just wishful thinking and my imagination. How wrong I was.

More and more the car became dependant on me to run, it wouldn't start at all unless I was the one to start it - my son and hubby both tried [they also did reiki, etc.] but it would only run for me. If you wanted to go anywhere you had to take me along and not as a passenger - it wouldn't work that way, I had to be the driver. When she would 'gap out' and sound like she might quit at intersections or while driving, quick thought, concentration and my hand would keep her moving. Eventually others began to notice it too.

The next time I gave people a ride to the subway and she was losing steam on the road or would go to stall at an intersection - I would just place a hand on the dash for a moment and say, "don't you dare" and she would keep going. Even funnier still was when the gutless wonder went up the hill. As usual her speed would drop and would be dropping way below the 60 km - but once I placed a hand on the dash and said, "don't you dare", she would suddenly pick up steam and climb the hill without any further drop in speed. At other times I would place a hand on her as she struggled through traffic barely able to keep up and she would suddenly lurch forward with renewed youth and speed though my foot never touched the gas peddle. Neat one as they say.

I often had two or three witnesses to this strange occurrence at a time and everyone would laugh or grin after the initial shock wore off. Strange perhaps, but it got me there and back. I always said I had a way with machines.

The one day that stands out the most though is the day that I had gone to church - I was a guest speaker there for one of their day courses. I wasn't sure if I could attend because my car was really acting up by this time. When it came time to leave several of the parishioners walked me out to my car in the church parking lot. It was cold out so the car needed a little warming up before I could drive [otherwise she would stall before she would even move and if she stalled I would be lucky to get a restart]. So I got behind the steering wheel and prayed the car would start - and she did, thank heavens. I let her idle for a couple of minutes as I spoke to the people and loaded my equipment into the trunk. All eight of us noticed the rough idling of the car as she chugged and gasped and sputtered in her struggles to keep going.

Suddenly she took a turn for the worse and began to die. Oblivious to the people around me and without even thinking I turned and placed my hand on her rear bumper and said, "don't you dare". The car gasped its last breath and quit at the same moment as my hand touched the bumper. Suddenly the car roared to life and revved up to beat all heck and was running smoother than before. I kept my hand on the bumper and turned back to continue the conversation and found myself looking into eight pairs of shocked eyes.

I apologized for being rude to them [turning my back on them and talking to my car] and explained if I didn't do it then I would not get it running again. One by one they began to talk and said they had never seen anything like it so I told them she just liked my energy. I was trying to explain and I often use my hands when I talk so without thinking I removed my hand from the car - instantly she started to die! As quick as I heard it I placed my hand back on her and again she sprung to life. Ok, I could say it was a fluke once, but twice? Again I met the eyes of these gaping mouthed people and tried to explain.

Now you have got to understand, I have this playful little imp inside of me that is just dying to get out at times and seeing so many people so shocked I just couldn't resist what I took to be an everyday occurrence. I deliberately took my hand off the car a moment later and for the third time the car tried to die and when I placed it back on, roared to life. I saw them still watching in amazement and I thought do I dare risk a fourth [giggle] they just looked so shocked. I did.  The car died - then car lived again. hehehe. Well that proved it was no coincidence.

Keeping my hand on the car at all times [I didn't want to push my luck] I slid it up the body as I worked my way to the front - my car purred like a contented kitten, never missing a beat. I got into my car and said my good byes, promising to come back again whenever they asked, and then drove away.

I hear they still talk about it at the church today... You decide…
